Re: Syquest SBP
Hi, Could you better explicit your needs and application: - What exactly are you looking for in sand ? - What are your operational constraints in terms of water-depth, vessel size, etc ? - How deep and what kind of vertical resolution do you require ? To have an efficient penetration in sand you may...

Re: Shallow water sub-bottom profiling
Late but informative addition to this topic, iXBlue makes ECHOES 10000 sub-bottom profilers that are much smaller/lighter than Edgetechs and or a greater imaging quality than the Stratabox. Transducer head (5-15kHz @-3dB) is ~25kg in air topside unit is a 19"4U rack that works with any laptop comput...

Re: Need help with choosing a SBP
Hi Paul, Considering the shallow depth and need for detailed near-surface data, I think that a sub-bottom profiler is a best choice for this kind of application: You are not looking for deep geological imaging but seabed and the first tenth of meters where a wreck could be. We have a good experience...

Re: Sub bottom profiler
Hi, I can propose that you look at our DELPH Seismic software ( delph.ixblue.com ) : It can take Stratabox or any SBP / 2D Seismic data in XTF or SEGY format. It is intuitive and very fast at processing, interpreting and 2D/3D mapping data. Note that its also handles side-scan & magnetometer data, i...

Re: single channel sub bottom profiling data processing software
I will recommend DELPH Seismic Interpretation software: http://delph.ixblue.com - There is simple to advanced data processing with batch capabilities - Interpretation is made easy with a global profile access (free zoom & pan), horizon tracking tools, a 3D map and much more. If you have a sample SEG...

Hi Timver, I am not so often on this BBoard and didn't notice your remark. It's unfortunate that you didn't get a repply to your enquiry. Kindly send me your contact details by e-mail / Private Message so I can get you through. I directly work on DELPH software and would like to discuss with you abo...

Re: Geochirp II
Hi, iXBlue develops sub-bottom profilers - ECHOES - in various configurations (towed, hull mounted, ...) based on piezzo antennas. The acquisiton system - DELPH Seismic - allows full tuning of the chirp pulses: Bandwidh, length, frequency and amplitude modulation parameters ... Since our acoustic an...

Re: Chirp, Knudsen or Konsberg?
Hi, You can find some pictures from iXBLue 3.5kHz sub-bottom profilers here below (click to enlarge). You may find Knudsen data on their website, at least I had demo CDs from them with data I exported to SEGY using the included PostSurvey software. If I find it I will post Knudsen results later on ....

Re: Sub bottom profiler
sonarman, I agree that the use of a Stratabox is quick and 'cheap' way to achieve shallow sub-bottom mapping and get an idea of the sub-surface structure. Then, the quest for fine sediment structure for sedimentology purpose for example implies a higher resolution that can be expected from higher gr...

Re: Sub bottom profiler
Hi Philippe, thanks for sharing these readings. I enjoyed reading the pdfs, although they are quite good and couldn't download it!, some processing stages are missed. I couldn't find a section about getting the amplitude spectrum in the frequency domain, I think an important step in post-processing...

Re: List of sub bottom profiler manufacturers
To complete the list, iXBlue manufactures a complete range of sub-bottom profilers from low-frequency (500Hz) strong penetration to high-frequency (15kHz) high resolution models. DELPH is a complete software suite for side-scan sonar, sub-botttom and magnetometer data. From acquisiton to processing,...
