Re: geophysics interview quetions

Thank you for replying. I am a geophysics student and want to work in seismic data processing. Technical questions generally relate to the position you apply. They could be specific about the job content, such as your familiarity about certain data processing algorithms or software, or simply genera...

You have explian the whole interview process very well. this will really help me. Thank you very much ! Could you explain the "motivated and self starting" part?. I mean how the interviewer deciedes these thing? That's pretty broad! What kind of geophysics? Anyway, we tend to have three groups of qu...

Re: How to mute direct arrival and refraction is SU??

Sir, i found the exact problem. problem is with plotting data with offset. "suximage" is not plotting true offset. I tried with suxwigb and muting worked fine.

I'm sorry for bothering you.

Re: How to mute direct arrival and refraction is SU??

Problem is, it mutes the whole thing above the highest time value picked up. lets picked are: time offset 0.483398 2960.34 0.539175 2811.59 0.715802 2310.54 1.01328 1825.14 1.4502 1104.88 1.63612 791.724 2.12881 8.82895 so after muting it removes the whole thing avobe the 2.12881 second.

Hello all, I am able to mute direct arrival and refraction for one gather using ker=tracl in muting. How can we apply mute to all gather with the mute parameter picked for one gather ?? I also tried with key=offset. first i displayed the data offset vs time instead of trace # vs time. then i picked ...

Re: error: subcalls.c: efopen: fopen failed

suximage < seismic.su mpicks=$mutepicks
here, the file mutepicks contains time and corresspong trace number. can we pick offset insted of trace number?? if we able to pick (time, offset) then we can use same mutepick file to number of gathers.

Predictive deconvolution in Seismic Unix

Hello all, To do predictive deconvolution, we need three parameter, according to Yilmaz, lag, operator length and percentage of whitening. In Seismic Unix, parameters are different, MINLAG and MAXLAG (MAXLAG_PEF = GAP_SIZE + MINLAG_PEF). How these parameter are related to lag, operator length and pe...

Re: Seismic Unix Help-Seismic data Processing-Shorting of Data to CDP

the number 310 to 500 is trace number. you can see, graph showing 10 cdp gather, here problem is, it is not showing the cdp on graph. you have done every thing correctly.
