Re: Affordable Ground Penetrating Radar Complete!

Really smart. Loving the matte black. I like how it folds up too. It is just ultra portable. That'd go into anyones car boot / van with ease. I've checked the website and it looks promising - but more data examples would be ideal. I'm thinking concrete reinforcement, clandestine burials, utility det...

Re: FINDAR - the first forensics-focused GPR system

This just seems rather gimmicky, if I'm honest. I've done searches on many clandestine burials and weapons caches over the past couple of years using traditional GPR, CST (Constant Separation Traversing) and ERT methods with a high degree of success. That being said, without the right information / ...

Re: Geophysicist salary

As the 99thpercentile so eloquently put, it really does depend what sector of geophysics you're going into. From my personal experience, I have recently joined a large engineering company within their near-surface geophysics sector, and my starting wage is $33,000 (~£20,000) a year (before tax). I ...

Re: I need help to read IDS detector file in DT format

Hi there,

Reflexw (http://www.sandmeier-geo.de/GPR.html) can import .dt files and export them to a variety of formats. I just checked and it does export as Segy, if that's what you need!

Alternative to GEOPLOT 3.0?

Hello all, I'm new here, so firstly I just want to say hello! I've been looking at this forum for a little while now (weeks before I registered) just to see what goes on. It's nice to see there's a community for near-surface geophysicists. Okay, so on to the main reason why I'm here: I've been condu...
