Re: Locating a man made tunnel

Hi, Recently I did a project where we located basements extents underneath the pavement. Some of them had a "convex" ceiling and was easy to find it (see picture https://ibb.co/rM0Gvwz ) but the ones with flat ceiling were more difficult. As somebody said, an electromagnetical survey might work as w...

Re: GIS

Does not answer my question, but I appreciate any comment, especially because I don't have much experience. I finished my degree less than 5 years ago and worked in a company doing mostly resistivity. We used Surfer and MapInfo-Discover for 3D. Then moved to the UK and work in a company where most o...

Re: Use ground penetrating radar with GPS

Hi, yesterday I finally get GPS (Trimble R8s) working with GPR (IDS). A 9-serial cable connected from the antenna to the toughbook, but I needed an NMEA upgrade license as well (£160 from the local dealer). Once I got the license, plug the cable, open the software and it automatically recognised whi...

Re: GIS

I don't think CAD is good for plotting 3D geophysical data. Try something else like Volxler. yes, I was trying in CAD civil 3D as we already have that software. Unfortunately, land surveyors think because they have software that includes "3D" they can plot geophysics data  Though work try to ...

Re: GIS

Hi,

Does someone know if there is a way on AutoCAD when you plot your resisitivity data in 3D, can we create contours which depend on the RES. I uploaded the data with E,N,Z,R (R= raw description) and I'm trying to draw isolines according to that description (resistivity) but don't know how..

Thanks

Re: Foundation scaning

Hi evgeo,

thank you. I knew about that method the problem is we can't drill a hole, is close to the railway so that means tons of paperwork. Anyway, the client told us they will replace the mast with a new one same size to avoid problems.

Thank you

Re: res2INV errors

Hi,

have you checked the array type in the .dat file? and compare the files.

Normally those kind of errors are a pain but when you realised the problem you see it was a easy mistake

Foundation scaning

Hi all, I have to determine the depth of a few concrete foundations. I believe depth arent deeper than 8 meters, so first instance, I thought GPR, however as I dont have much experience with it not sure if I can do it... Then I thought ERT, as I have worked mostly with it, however not sure if the eq...
