Near-Surface Geophysicist Wanted

Post by searcher »

Exploration Instruments (http://www.expins.com) is the premier geophysical instrument rental company in North America specializing in near-surface geophysics. We are looking for a geophysicist to join our team in Austin, Texas, USA. This full-time, salaried position is primarily responsible for providing geophysical and technical support to our clients; however it will also encompass inventory management, order fulfillment, problem resolution, customer relations, and new technology evaluation.

This position relies heavily upon an attitude of superior service and attention to detail. The candidate will be in daily phone and email contact with geophysicists, hydrologists, geologists, archaeologists, civil and geotechnical engineers and numerous other scientists worldwide. This position does not require travel.

EXI maintains a large inventory of geophysical and geotechnical equipment so there is plenty of opportunity to work with a variety of instrumentation in every imaginable application. We occupy 6,500 sq ft of office/warehouse space in the hippest city in the USA. We've been in business since 1998 as EXI, but carry a long tradition of geophysical equipment rentals dating back almost twenty years prior to that. While firmly based in classic near-surface geophysical instrumentation, we constantly evaluate new technologies in many different industries.

Exploration Instruments is a small business offering competitive wages and health benefits.

Qualifications/Requirements

Master’s degree in geophysics or equivalent work experience. Exploration Instruments works primarily in near-surface geophysical applications so the applicant should have practical experience and familiarity with those applications and the equipment needed.
