Geophysical instruments: Geophone

Post by Alejandro »

Hi guys
I'm learning about geophones, but I have a question, maybe a bit dumb.. when we say, for example, that a geophone has a natural frequency of 10 Hz.. what does it means? That above that frequency (or below) it will not work properly? I'm a bit confused, and I haven't found a good answer.. :|
Hope you can help me

It means it gets best signals around 10Hz. Usually it still can record higher frequencies well, but not much lower frequencies.
