Sirs
Generally speaking, 3D seismic offshore survey at least should confirm or even improve 2D results on the same area.
What are the chances, from the common good practice and your experience, that the 3D will give worse results then the 2D survey ?
Thanks in advance

Re: 3D vise 2D
How do you know 3D is worse than 2D in some cases? Any criteria to make the judgement?
Re: 3D vise 2D
I think it's in the other way around, 3D will greatly improve 2D. 3D gives a detailed and continuous view of 2D. That's why 3D is often acquired in specific "small" areas after 2D (almost always regional surveys).
Re: 3D vise 2D
3D data almost always produces images of substantially better quality than those obtained by 2D data. Unless the 3D acquisition was plagued by problems, or the 3D data was poorly processed, I would trust the 3D data over the 2D data.
